‘Chaotic’ Jungle Babbler

‘Chaotic’ Jungle Babbler

Bengal Birds -10 (সাতভায়া, ছাতারে)

CHAOTIC!!! That’s the one word which perfectly describes Jungle Babbler/Common Babbler/Seven Sisters. In fact, that’s the reason they got such name. The Bengali name ‘Satbhaya (seven sisters) ’ justifies their gang-name but just overlooks their nature! It is really true that they almost always found to be in a gang of 7or 6. And they are just like nursery kids, always mock-fighting, copying each other and extremely noisy. But they also appeared to me quite ‘coordinated’ as evident from these two photographs taken in my rooftop!

Bengali Name

সাতভায়া, ছাতারে

Male – Female Distinction

This species also doesn’t have a clear distinction for males and females, both are identical.
